In tough times developers bring innovation back to marketing
New York Daily News
Times have changed. After a year of getting beaten and bruised by tumbling prices and lowball offers New York City real estate agents are struggling to come up with novel marketing ideas to draw serious buyers. Time after time I walk into fantastic buildings and watch as sales teams use marketing programs that could be applied to any number of similarly priced properties in very different locations. In the five years I’ve been covering this industry there’s currently very little to no innovation which is strange because tough times usually drive creative ideas. First-time and luxury home hunters are sick of exaggerated brochures pushing soft-porn or hearing about faucet technology. ne-month free rent or 50% off closing costs are short-term Band-Aids that won’t fix industry ills. And big-time real estate agencies wonder why sales continue to be soft.

Downtown unveils new marketing theme
Mooresville Tribune
Downtown Mooresville” is the theme that will aim to inform people throughout the region about what downtown has to offer — from art and food to quilters and tattoos — which they may not realize are here said Dave Sopp as he and his wife Kelly presented MDC’s new campaign at a press conference Tuesday. As the owners of Wrybaby an internet business located above Ye lde Mantel Antique Shop on North Broad Street the Sopps bring 19 years of marketing experience to the table as they help the MDC re-brand its current image said Atkins. The new “It’s Happening Downtown” campaign was presented Tuesday at Soiree by Atkins and the Sopps to the press local business owners and advertisers. “It’s no mistake that ‘It’s happening’ can be taken a few different ways” Dave Sopp said to the audience as black white and orange ? the theme’s color palette ? marketing tools and images appeared on a projector screen. Noting that “the biggest problem downtown has is nobody knows about it” the Sopps said the new theme will maintain Main Street’s “small town charm” while making those currently out-of-the-know aware of everything that’s available downtown. “Now that all these things exist let’s tell people about them because they’re really missing out” said Dave.
